Beverly Jo Ann Austad was born July 17, 1937 to Jorgen and Carolyn (Rupprecht) Austad. Survived by wife of 56 years, Kathy Lewis; sons John and Todd, daughter Cindy (Liekhus), sister Judy Bachman, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. After earning her nursing degree in 1945 Judy served in the US Army during WW II, achieving the rank of Lieutenant. In high school he ran track and played basketball. Among his honors and distinctions were the Iowa State Cardinal Key Honor Society, North Dakota State Universitys Alumni Association Heritage Award, NDSUs Blue Key Doctor of Service Award, FarmHouse Fraternitys Master Builder of Men Award, and Iowas State 4-H Alumni Recognition Award. Dorothy Anne Owre, 75, of Hackensack, MN died at her home on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. He was in the Second Infantry Division at the border between Korea and China. A memorial service was held May 26th, at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, with Pastor Craig Johnson officiating. Mark was born March 1, 1956, in St. Paul, the son of Forrest and Jane Watson. She had bladder cancer. Patrick worked at the 3M Company for 45 years as a chemical engineer, advancing to become a corporate scientist and Carleton Fellow. Doc John, as many called him, was active in the Hackensack community, volunteering at the VFW, Lions Club, and Hackensack Co-Op. Most of Rogers career was spent with Pan American Underwriters, specialists in agricultural coverages, giving Roger an opportunity to renew his agricultural roots. Jack Lewis was as well known for his community service as he was for his medical practice. After he married Mary Ellen, Ken began spending his summers on the north shore of Ten Mile Lake in northern Minnesota. Some of you may remember Mary Jo as the woman who walked on County 50 with the dog who carried her own leash. Dorothy graduated from Northrup Collegiate School in Minneapolis and Mills College in Oakland, CA. Darlene was an accomplished learning disabilities tutor for the Ames school district, a tennis instructor for the City of Ames Recreation program, artist, gourmet cook, and hostess for numerous Un-Birthday Parties for the children she came to know. She captured it in a net and discovered a mass of monofilament fishing line which had ensnarled the loons legs and cut into them so as to render them useless. He taught in the Department of Psychiatry and the Denver Psychoanalytic Institute for many years. He loved Ten Mile Lake. Her daughters fondly recall homemade bread and caramel rolls every Saturday when they were young, as well as decadent holiday treats such as krumkake, ebelskiver, lefse, rosettes, and fattigman. Jane continued to have 75 wonderful summers at Ten Mile Lake, the last one in 2013 just before she died. Ken is also survived by his daughter Diane Young of Oxford, Ohio, and son Robert Lowery of Round Hill. Paul Aite Hensel, 70, of Alexander, Iowa, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Mercy One North Iowan Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa.
